Teen Club

We have witnessed over the years that a number of the children of believers upon reaching adolescence find living the Gospel to be unattractive or lonely and not worth the effort. This is something that our daughter, Maureen, has witnessed personally, since she lived her adolescence here in San Miguel and the Lord has given her a particular burden for the youth of San Miguel.

The idea of the club is to gather all the Christian young people in this town to form a community that can be of an encouragement and support to each individual. We all know how difficult it is for young Christian kids today to keep high standards and live holy lives with all the temptations that are looming before them and grabbing their attention left and right. The peer pressure is especially high in this town because it is so small, everyone knows everyone and is in everyone's business, and this is a BIG party town; you are expected to party and if you don't you are an outcast. So, it is hard for church-going youth to walk the walk alone which is how it has been this whole time. We are praying that through this group each of these kids would feel like there are others who also believe the way they do and feel supported by them.

It is a non-denominational group that is very laid back and comfortable that meets weekly to talk about teen issues, get to know God better and answer tough questions about walking with Him, watch movies together that inspire and encourage, listen to Christian music, hang out and just have a great time.
